Job Description


Assembly for the Arts is searching for a Marketing and Communications Associate to assist in expanding awareness of the organization’s work and engagement with programs and services. Assembly for the Arts is a highly efficient 501c3 nonprofit. To achieve its mission, it focuses on advocacy, cultural policy, racial equity initiatives, research, marketing that elevates the region, and services for nonprofits, artists, and creative businesses. Put simply, Assembly is here to “expand the pie” and increase equity in Cleveland’s arts and culture industries. It is governed by a volunteer board with a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Maintain design and update content on and additional websites owned by Assembly for the Arts
  • Manage social media content, engagement and strategy
  • Develop content and execute email communications (monthly updates and time-sensitive announcements)
  • Create marketing collateral, e.g. print communications, ads, program one-pagers
  • Support the team in its management of community relationships
  • Assist with managing Cleveland Artist Registry / Creative Compass / Artsopolis merger
  • Search for opportunities throughout the community to share with artists, creative businesses, and/or cultural nonprofits to share on the above site and other channels
  • Additional duties as needed

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Writing and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently/remote and with a team
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Organized with ability to pay strong attention to detail
  • Ability and propensity to learn new skills as required

Preferred Skills

  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Website Management; experience in WordPress
  • Google Analytics / Other web analytics
  • Design knowledge
  • Salesforce, Neon CRM, or other CRM database

Compensation and Benefits

This position starts at approximately $18 per hour (annualized for 20 hours per week)

This position is part-time, exempt, has flexible work arrangements; and paid time off.
